Two weeks ago, the new Year 7’s took an orientation trip to Isobe Gardens in Gunma. Everyone started out nervous having only met each other a few days earlier, but by the end of the trip it was like looking at friends who have known each other for decades.
There was however another goal to the trip. Introducing students to the school philosophy and pedagogy. What does it mean to be a “Global Citizen in the 21st Century?” was the key point of their discussion. Watching students discuss how they fit into the world and the changes they dream of making while brimming with excitement has filled me with inspiration and hope for the future. I am really looking forward to watching these students develop and achieve their goals in these next six years and beyond.
