Building on our Term 1 lessons about political ideologies, Term 2 shifts its focus to political systems, using real-world examples and current events. The first major assessment has students working in groups to research and analyze diverse political systems from countries like China, the USA, the UK, Iran, North Korea, and Japan. Students will compare and contrast these systems and apply advanced inquiry and creative methods to present their findings to the class.
Later this term, students will dive into Japan’s Constitution, analyzing key articles and exploring multiple perspectives on controversial issues. Additionally, we will introduce macroeconomic topics such as GDP, international trade, and inflation. As part of their civic education, students will also explore ways to actively engage at the local level.
We look forward to an exciting and insightful term!
