In today’s Comprehensive Learning (総合) class, the junior high school 1st grade international class students heard from Mr Makoto Yamada (a Seibi Gakuen graduate) about the inspiring story of Seibo. Seibo is a non-profit organization which provides school meals for children in Malawi. Mr Yamada, along with his intern Kaan, explained to us the situation for children in Malawi, and how charities still have to function as businesses to help people in need. I hope that the students feel inspired to do some more research into charitable businesses around the world!

今日の総合の学習では、中１インターナショナルクラスクラスの生徒たちが、星美学園卒業生の山田先生から『非営利団体せいぼ』の感動的な話を聞きました。『非営利団体せいぼ』はマラウイの子供たちに学校給食を提供する団体です。山田先生は、インターンのカーン氏とともに、マラウイの子供たちの状況と、慈善団体が困っている人々を助けるビジネスとして機能しなければならないことについて説明してくれました。生徒たちが、世界中の慈善事業についてさらに研究する意欲を感じてくれることを願っています。
