As the end of the school year is in sight, Term 3 is flying by, but students are still hard at work learning about Greek mythology in their Year 9 AG English classes. Through a survey of various Ancient Greek plays, students are exploring cultural differences and connections through exploration of what creates concepts like humor and heroism. While finding laughter in the comedies of the past can be challenging, tragedy is more broadly accessible to all humans with our hopes, fears, and emotions. By looking at excerpts of a number of these ancient stories, students can form their own opinions and, In the end, will be able to demonstrate their understanding through writing, creating, and performing.
