In this lesson, students learned the differences between the verbs “make,” “let,” and “have” and how to use them appropriately.

First, the teacher(Mr.Kishi) gave an explanation and provided example sentences to help students clearly understand how these three verbs differ.

After the explanation, the class moved on to an activity. Students were instructed to form vertical rows with their teammates. Each team received a set of cards, and every card contained a sentence that included one of the verbs make / let / have.

The first person in each row looked at the card and acted out the sentence using gestures, without speaking at all. If a teammate guessed the sentence correctly, the student who gave the clue moved to the back of the row, everyone else moved one seat forward, and the new front person became the next clue-giver. The game ended once all the cards had been used.

After reading the target structures and listening to the teacher’s explanation, students had to express the meanings physically. By engaging both mind and body, they could internalize the expressions and ultimately learn to choose correctly between make, let, and have when speaking English. As shown in the photos, the students were fully engaged and trying hard to communicate the English sentences to their teammates.
