【Y10】Physics

投稿日2025/10/29

On October 16, the Year 10 Physics students investigated Newton’s second law of motion. Specifically, they were asked to design a way to test what effect changing the mass of an object has on its acceleration. They worked in groups to come up with their own methodology using the available materials, then went on to test their ideas.

The students made use of 1-kg cars to find the acceleration caused by a constant force, then combined extra 1-kg cars to increase the mass and check how its acceleration would change. The students were able to provide clear data that increasing the mass of an object while applying the same amount of force led to a decrease in acceleration – a clear example of the second law of motion in action!
