This term marks the launch of our Year 10 Philosophy course, introducing students to a discipline many had never encountered before. Through engaging readings on topics
like the existence of God, free will, ethics, and equality, students are developing essential philosophical tools to question the world around them.
The curriculum emphasizes methodologies that foster critical thinking and rational inquiry. Students learn to identify different forms of argumentation, recognize logical fallacies, and evaluate philosophical perspectives across major branches of philosophy.
Central to our approach is the Socratic Circle, with students participating in structured dialogues that develop their abilities to question assumptions and engage respectfully
with diverse viewpoints.
This foundational course prepares students for advanced philosophy studies in grades 11 and 12, while building transferable skills for academic and personal growth.
